Spectrofon

Spectrofon is an iconic electronic magazine for the ZX Spectrum 48K home computer, created by Yuri Matveev. The publication became a true symbol of the era for enthusiasts of the platform.

The magazine functioned as a multimedia collection focused on music and news from the ZX Spectrum scene. The software supported AY sound chips, allowing users to listen to high-quality tracks directly on their computers.

In the USSR and Russia, Spectrofon became a legendary project. It was widely read, and the editorial team actively collaborated with game developers and the demoscene. There are dozens of disk versions of the magazine adapted for TR-DOS, which were distributed on floppy disks. Cracked cassette versions were also found in circulation.
