Wheelie is an arcade game released in 1983 for the ZX Spectrum by Microsphere. The title was developed by David S. Reidy, who handled both the code and in-game graphics, while Keith Warrington created the inlay and poster art.
Designed for a single player, the game focuses on navigating a motorcycle through various obstacles. It features distinct border effects and supports control via cursor or Kempston joystick.
The cassette cost £5.95.
The game received strong critical acclaim, including a 93% score from Crash magazine, where it was also named Game of the Month in March 1984.
In Russia and the former USSR, the game gained popularity among users. POKE codes were featured in magazines like Revival and Micro. The title was adapted for TR-DOS, and a Russian translation was released by White Lake Soft in 1992. Cracked versions were also widely available on cassettes.
