ZXWORD is a word processor released in 2023 by Matthew Begg. The software serves as a specialized utility tool designed for text editing tasks.
The application is intended for single-player use, focusing on efficient text entry and document management. It was developed to handle specific word processing requirements on the ZX Spectrum platform.
In the USSR and Russia, ZXWORD became a de facto standard for drafting text in electronic magazines. It was frequently mentioned in publications such as On-Line and ZX Element as a benchmark for simplicity and performance. A version was released by the Kharkov-based group BG&SI in 1992, and cracked cassette versions were widely distributed among users.
